Martinsville Rescue Squad has received a donation of oxygen masks for pets through the Canine Company's Canine Saves program.
BRIDGEWATER - The Martinsville Rescue Squad has received a donation of oxygen masks for pets through the Canine Company's Canine Saves program.
The announcement was made by the company this week.
Squad Chief Debbie Manna requested the masks after learning about the Canine Saves program from a neighboring first aid squad, according to a news release.
So far this year, Canine Company has donated more than 40 sets of masks
to 18 fire departments and first aid squads, including Bernardsville,
Basking Ridge, Annandale, Stirling and Gillette. North Plainfield Fire Department received masks from the program in March.
"We hope to donate to first responders in other communities where our clients
live," said Renee Coughlin of Canine Company, a Wilton, Connecticut-based company that provides at-home pet care products and services.

The special pet oxygen masks are designed in a cone shape to fit securely
over the snout of most animals. Each set comes in three sizes to fit
many pets, from small mammals like rabbits up through giant-breed dogs, and connect to the standard oxygen tanks rescue teams carry, according to a news release.
Rescue squads and fire departments interested in receiving a donation of pet oxygen masks can do so by contacting Canine Company.
