GLEN GARDNER -- Local artist Sandra Watts believes it's never too late to learn a new skill and she teaches an art class to prove it.

Watts teaches a class at the YMCA North Hunterdon Active Older Adult Center in Annandale that covers a wide variety of mediums, including watercolor, oils, pastels, and pen and ink.

"There is a place for everyone in this class from beginner to advanced artist," said Watts. "I love teaching here because everyone really wants to learn and this provides the perfect opportunity."

The Art Class is held at the YMCA North Hunterdon Active Older Adult Center Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Walk-ins are welcome and the first class is free. The fee for the class is $5 per class, and new members can join at any time. Students provide their own supplies and are welcome to set up their own still lifes.

The Active Older Adult Center is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 285 Route 513 in Glen Gardner. To learn more about the art class or other activities at the center, go to hcymca.org or call Beth Wolfmayer at 908-638-6515.
