Teacher named one of six "Teachers of the Year" by Goddard System, Inc.
HILLSBOROUGH -- Christina Mruskovic, a kindergarten teacher at The Goddard School, has been named one of the school's "Teachers of the Year."
Each year, Goddard System Inc. honors six of their teachers nationwide for "their passion, dedication and enthusiasm for early childhood education."
Mruskovic was singled out for the award for the intergenerational activities she developed for her students. The young students visited Avalon Assisted Living facility, where they helped residents make love bug pins, shared snacks and sang songs. Prior to the visit, Mruskovic talked to her students about different generations and read books about grandparents. The children also learned songs and discussed manners and etiquette.
Also honored were Pamela Gijanto and Sabrina Piotrowski, teachers at The Goddard School in Marlboro.
