NJ Transit Gladstone service suspended, bus service available

Gladstone branch train service was suspended Tuesday afternoon and buses will provide substitute service.

NJ Transit Gladstone Branch rail service was suspended between Bernardsville and Gladstone after a train struck debris on the tracks this afternoon.

Lakeland Bus will cross honor train tickets and monthly passes after the 3:12 p.m. train from Bernardsville struck debris on the tracks near Whitenack Road in Bernardsville, according to NJ transit alerts.  

"The actual type of debris is unknown at this time, but there is significant damage to the train and it was annulled," said Jennifer Nelson, an NJ Transit spokeswoman. "A rescue train was brought in for the 19 passengers who taken to their destinations."
