Quit horsing around: N.J. statue prompts animal complaint

In fact the horse has not moved ever. It is a statue, complete with hair for a mane and tail.

Someone sent an anonymous letter to the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals claiming a horse was spotted in Bridgewater tied to a fence without water. The horse, it seemed, had not moved in days.

It is not the first time a faux animal has spurred complaints. In Scotland authorities were called in over a "distressed donkey." The donkey was a garden decoration.

In England, police smashed a car window to rescue a "baby" that turned out to be a doll.
