A fire on June 15, 2016, at a Hillsborough Township home is under investigation.
HILLSBOROUGH - Firefighters extinguished a porch and roof fire at a Beekman Lane home on Wednesday, township police have announced.
The fire was reported at 12:27 a.m. When police arrived, they say the front porch was on fire and flames had spread to the roof line, according to a news release. Everyone inside had evacuated prior to the officer's arrival.
Firefighters from township Fire Companies' 36, 37, 38 and 48 brought the blaze under control. There were no injuries reported and the cause is currently under investigation by township police and Hillsborough Fire Safety, police said.
Also responding were Hillsborough Rescue Squad Unit 79, the township's office of emergency management and building department.
