Somerset County veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Feeney was honored by Freeholders for her service to the community.
BRIDGEWATER - Somerset County Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh, Freeholder Patrick Scaglione and Sheriff Frank Provenzano were on hand to recognize and say thank you to Dr. Jennifer Feeney from the Somerset Veterinary Group for the many hours she has devoted to volunteering and giving back to the community.
Henry Schein Territory Manager Karen Travisano created the company's Good Neighbor Award as a way to recognize veterinarians who give back to the community, according to a news release.
Dr. Jennifer Feeney has been employed at Somerset Veterinary Group since June 2010 as an associate veterinarian and was promoted to chief of staff in January 2015.
Whitman visits N.J. regional animal shelter
She frequently gives tours to home-schooled students and 4-H and scout groups to promote veterinary medicine.
Feeney has volunteered once a week at the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter since April 2014. She also is very involved in Boy Scouts and frequently connects scouting groups to local shelter organizations for community-service opportunities.
She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She worked in a veterinary emergency room and was director of operations at one of the largest animal shelters in New Jersey. She and her husband, Kevin Feeney, have two boys, Logan, 11, and Grayson, 9.
