BRIDGEWATER - A serious accident involving a motorcycle closed Route 22 at Country Club Road on Wednesday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation and township police.
As of 7:30 a.m., the highway was reopened. The accident was reported at 4:30 a.m. and may have involved another vehicle. The highway has been closed for several hours for an investigation, police said. Residual delays remain in the area.
This is the third highway closure in the township in three days. An accident on Route 202/206 near Commons Way closed the highway on Monday night, with northbound lane closures on Tuesday causing traffic delays through the morning commute.
Also on Tuesday, a water main break on closed westbound Route 28 (Union Avenue) at Promenade Boulevard.
