SUSSEX COUNTY -- A three-day crime spree across two counties will cost a 21-year-old Basking Ridge man 11 years, according to the New Jersey Herald.

Hardwick Stires admitted in June to robbing several businesses in Sussex and Morris counties, the newspaper reported.

As reported by NJ Advance Media, Stires robbed three Sussex County businesses and a liquor store in Kinnelon using a replica gun. He'd also planned to rob the TD Bank in Harding, but that plot was foiled by his arrest on Dec. 4, 2014, Sussex County First Assistant Prosecutor Greg Mueller said at the time.

Stires was assisted by two others during the robbery of the Hampton Quick Chek on Dec. 3, 2014 -- Robert Colomban, 19, of Far Hills, and Cassandra Post, 18, of Liberty Corner. According to the New Jersey Herald, Post and Colomban each pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to commit theft for their roles in the robbery.

Stires' armed robbery spree prompted a massive investigation by police agencies in Morris, Somerset and Sussex, Mueller said at the time.

During the course of the investigation, Colomban and Post both implicated themselves and Stires in the robberies, and police later found the replica gun, the satchel Stires' allegedly carried into the robberies and other evidence during a search of his car and house.

Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner are both unincorporated communities in Bernards Township.
