Couple allegedly assault friend with baseball bat in search for drugs

Man and his female accomplice were allegedly looking for drugs.

WARREN -- A township man who allegedly entered a friend's apartment armed with a baseball bat and looking to steal drugs has been arrested.

On Sunday, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Maximilian Mueller, 20, and a juvenile female accomplice carrying a knife entered the unlocked door of a second-floor apartment on Primrose Way, according to an affidavit filed in Somerset County Superior Court.

The victim, 47, told police that the girl repeatedly yelled "Where is it, tell us where it is," the affidavit stated.

A second victim, 19, said she engaged in a physical confrontation with the girl and during the struggle was hit in the left leg with the baseball bat by Mueller, the affidavit stated.

The pair then fled the apartment without taking anything, the affidavit stated.

The following day, the victims reported the incident to police, stating that they knew Mueller and the girl, who was identified as SR in the affidavit, the affidavit stated.

Mueller has been charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and third-degree assault. No bail information was immediately available.

The girl has been charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and third-degree possession of an unlawful weapon. She was released to the custody of her parents.
