Glimpse of History: Nutty friends in North Plainfield

NORTH PLAINFIELD — Christian Dziadek gets a close look at a Mr. Peanut statue at the Planters Peanuts store on Route 22 in North Plainfield in this photo from 1961. The website 4mrpeanut.com points out that there were five Planters Peanuts stores in New Jersey in the late 1950s and early 1960s: Asbury Park, Atlantic City, North Plainfield, Paterson and Trenton....

The website 4mrpeanut.com points out that there were five Planters Peanuts stores in New Jersey in the late 1950s and early 1960s: Asbury Park, Atlantic City, North Plainfield, Paterson and Trenton.

The former site of the North Plainfield store is now home to FabricLand.
