The college said it notified its students and faculty
BRANCHBURG -- Raritan Valley Community College is investigating a reported sex assault on campus, the college confirmed Friday.
Raritan Valley Community College"The incident is currently being investigated by the Branchburg Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office," the college said in a statement. "The College is cooperating with law enforcement."
Officials said it received the report Thursday afternoon and notified local law enforcement. It has also increased security patrols on campus.
The college said it notified its students and faculty as required under the federal Clergy Act.
The Branchburg Police Department did not immediately return a call with further details.
