Watch for delays on Interstate 78 and Interstate 287 in Somerset County on Wednesday morning.

A crash on northbound Interstate 287 in Bedminster north of exit 21 (Interstate 78) has closed the left two lanes, causing delays of up to 10 minutes, according to the state Department of Transportation. There are also repairs being made to an overhead sign apparently damaged in the crash.

The eastbound Interstate 78 exit 33 (Liberty Corner Road) ramp in Bernards is closed because of a disabled tractor-trailer.

Watch for slow traffic on eastbound Interstate 78 from the Interstate 287 interchange west to exit 20 in Lebanon in Hunterdon County.

The crash on Interstate 287 happened in the area where repaving work began overnight. Resurfacing of the expressway will continue from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Oct. 28.

Schifano Construction Corp. is scheduled to close two lanes on northbound Interstate 287 between mile post 21.2 - near the Interstate 78 interchange - and mile post 23 near Schley Mountain Road.

All lanes will be open between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, according to the DOT.

The work is part of a project to improve the Interstates 287 and 78 interchange in Bridgewater and Bedminster and includes realignment of the exit ramp from northbound Interstate 287 to southbound Route 202-206. The $24.5 million project is expected to be done by December 2019.
