Mount Horeb Schools students receive a visit from a therapy horse.
WARREN -- Last month, the preschoolers at Mount Horeb School received a visit from a therapy horse named "Michelangelo."
Michelangelo is one of several miniature horses at Hope's Promise, a therapeutic riding center in Chester, who visits schools, nursing homes and other facilities, explained Maureen Coultas, executive director at Hope's Promise, who escorted Michelangelo to the school.
Coultas told students that Michelangelo can go up and down stairs, in elevators, and even visit people in their bedrooms. "A lot of people think he's a pony but he's smaller than a pony. He's too little for people to ride so he's a therapy horse," explained Coultas.
