Somerset County authorities are investigating a shooting on Jan. 3, 2017, in the Somerset section of Franklin Township.
FRANKLIN -- Authorities are investigating a shooting Tuesday night in the Somerset section of the township, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a news release Wednesday.
At approximately 7:44 p.m., township police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Dewald Avenue. Responding officers located a 31-year-old male outside a Dewald Avenue residence suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg, according to the release.
The victim, who was the intended target, was taken to a local trauma center for emergency treatment, it was stated.
The release didn't include any information on the alleged shooter or if he was in custody.
