The telephone town hall meeting will take place at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017.
MORRISTOWN -- Despite weeks of constituents demanding a face-to-face meeting in his district, U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) will instead hold another telephone town hall meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Frelinghuysen held a little-publicized, invitation-only meeting on Feb. 21 during which the congressman reportedly said he would deny funding for President Donald Trump's proposed Mexican border wall. Frelinghuysen's office, however, denied the claim in a statement to Patch, saying the proposal would be treated like any other funding request.
Frelinghuysen's phone meeting takes place as congressional members return to their home districts to find throngs of angry crowds at their traditional in-person town halls across the country.
Frelinghuysen's telephone town hall will take place at 5:15 p.m.
Constituents interested in calling into the town hall can call 832-225-5885, ext. 34711#.
On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance became the only Republican congressman in the Garden State to face his constituents in-person amid a raucous meeting in Branchburg.
