"How Ironic Melancholy in the Spring Must Be," an oil painting by Pingry junior Nancy Lu.< BERNARDS -- An oil painting by Pingry School junior Nancy Lu of Bridgewater was selected by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities to be included in "Art.Write.Now.DC 2015-16," an exhibit of 2015 Scholastic Arts & Writing Award winners that the PCAH is presenting in partnership with the Department of Education.
Nancy's painting, "How Ironic Melancholy in the Spring Must Be," received a National Gold Medal from Scholastic.
"Not only was this piece a way to really express my emotions and explore new techniques, it was also an awesome learning experience," she said.
Nancy's painting will be on display through August at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building in Washington, D.C.
