Flood warning in Central Jersey after severe thunderstorms

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for portions of Hunterdon and Somerset counties following heavy rain from April 6, 2017, thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for portions of Hunterdon and Somerset counties following heavy rain from Thursday's thunderstorms.

The warning is in effect until 10:45 p.m.

At 7:38 p.m. the Neshanic River at Reaville was above stage, and roads in the area may be closed.

A number of roads in both counties were flooded by late Thursday afternoon. Griggstown Causeway in Montgomery Township was closed early Friday morning because of flooding.

Firefighters also responded to several homes that were struck by lightening, including in Clinton Township and Califon in Hunterdon County.
