Bridgewater Baseball & Softball has completed a two year, $50,000 renovation of the Bridgewater-Raritan Baseball High School Field.

BRIDGEWATER - Bridgewater Baseball & Softball has completed a two year, $50,000 renovation of the Bridgewater-Raritan Baseball High School Field.

The youth baseball league funded the field renovations through its Bridgewater and Raritan business sponsors, according to a news release.

"We are excited for a great season on the newly renovated infield and permanent outfield fence," said Max Newill, Bridgewater-Raritan High School Varsity Baseball Head Coach. "We're excited to play on one of the best fields in Somerset County."

The renovations and outfield fence will allow baseball to be played in the summer and fall seasons, in addition to the spring season.

It also opens the field to youth in the seventh through twelfth grades that take part in the Bridgewater Baseball recreation and travel teams. The opening day parade for the spring baseball season will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Prince Rodgers Complex.

The organization has been a charter member of Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball League since 1992.
