With President Donald Trump less than five miles away at his Trump National Gold Club, roadways are expected to be jammed and security tight.

FAR HILLS - The Somerset Hills area will be a hotbed of activity this weekend as the Visiting Nurses Association of Somerset Hills holds its Spring Rummage Sale at the Far Hills Fairgrounds, a few miles from where President Donald Trump will be staying at Trump National Golf Club.

The sale, which annually attracts upwards of 20,000 shoppers over its three days, will be held less than 5 miles from the private golf club.

Roads are expected to be jammed and security tight in the area, but at this time there are no planned road closures, Bedminster Chief of Police Karl Rock said on Thursday.

"We don't anticipate the president's visit will have any impact on the sale," said Marie Sperber, vice president of business, development and philanthropy for the Visiting Nurses Association.

The hours of the sale are Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

More than 4,000 people have donated clothing, household merchandise, sporting goods, toys and other items. Many of the items are high-end.

Hundreds of volunteers have worked for weeks collecting donated items and will be working this weekend.

Some items will be in rooms and others will be in carpeted tents. The forecast calls for a 90 percent chance of rain on Friday and possible showers on Saturday and Sunday.

All the proceeds of the event will benefit the Visiting Nurses Association of Somerset Hills. More information on the sale is available on the Visiting Nurses Association of Somerset Hills website.
