The president had no public activities on a rainy Friday.
WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump spent his first full day in Bedminster with wife Melania on a rainy away from the press and public.
He had no public schedule and was making phone calls and meeting with people at the Trump National Golf Club, according to White House pool reports.
While there were no reports of golfing in the rain, Trump did find time to tweet.
Rather than causing a big disruption in N.Y.C., I will be working out of my home in Bedminster, N.J. this weekend. Also saves country money!

"This is the president's first time to be back in the New York Metro area," White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at the daily briefing in Washington.
"I think he's trying to save the taxpayers money the best way he can by taking his team and focus and being in New Jersey instead of in New York, where it would have caused a much greater disruption and a much greater cost to taxpayers," she said.
The president's biggest action was signing legislation funding the government through Sept. 30.
He also released his weekly address, praising House Republicans for passing legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with legislation that could leave 24 million more Americans without coverage.

The measure would allow states to seek waivers from federal requirements that insurers cover procedures such as maternity care and hospitalization and do not discriminate against those with pre-existing conditions.
"It will be great health care, and your premiums will come down, and your deductibles will come down," Trump said. "So you'll have better health care at a lower cost."
The Congressional Budget Office said the House Republican bill would allow insurers to charge more to older Americans and would cut subsidies, meaning that a 64-year-old individual making $26,500 a year would pay $14,600 a year rather than the current $1,700.
"And now, I'm calling on the Senate to take action," Trump said. "Repealing and replacing Obamacare will be a big, big win for the American people."
