BRANCHBURG -- A Bound Brook man has been arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a boy eight years ago.
Manuel DeJesus Lopez-Hernandez, now 35, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the boy in 2007, when the victim was between 7 and 8 years old.
He is now 16 years old.
Lopez-Hernandez, who is also charged with second-degree sexual assault, is being held in Somerset County Jail in lieu of $300,000 cash-only bail.
On Dec. 24, the teen filed a complaint with the Branchburg police saying that when he lived in the township in 2007 he was allegedly sexually assaulted by Lopez-Hernandez on two occasions, according to an affidavit filed in Somerset County Superior Court.
The teen told authorities that Lopez-Hernandez was doing work for a relative and sexually assaulted him in the home, according to the affidavit.
When questioned by authorities, Lopez-Hernandez admitted that he had sexually assaulted the victim, according to the affidavit.
