SOMERVILLE -- Authorities are investigating a pair of small fires set at Immaculate Conception Church on New Year's Eve.
At approximately 11:25 p.m., two small blazes were discovered by a parish priest in the church's sacristy, according to a press release issued Monday by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
The priest quickly extinguished both fires and called Somerville police, according to the release.
Detectives from the Somerville police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Crime Scene Investigations and Forensic Unit are investigating the fires.
