BRANCHBURG -- The Branchburg Township Police Department honored Raritan Valley Community College graduates Scott Jordan and Catherine Espinal on Dec. 14 for their lifesaving efforts at the RVCC swimming pool last spring.
After a senior citizen went into cardiac arrest, Jordan and Espinal assisted the man by immediately initiating CPR, bringing him back from unconsciousness before calling emergency services.
"I am grateful to have had such dedicated and well-trained lifeguards on duty to respond to the emergency," RVCC aquatics director George Eversmann said. "I'm very proud of them."
Since graduating in May, Jordan, of Clinton, has continued his education at Rowan University and Espinal, of Bound Brook, has continued hers at Rutgers University.
