The man allegedly shoplifted 2 bottles of wine worth more than $1800 in Bernardsville and a $4,000 bottle of win in Connecticut.
A man suspected of shoplifting expensive wine in New Jersey and other states is headed to jail for stealing video games and jewelry from his father's former girlfriend, according to a report.
Scott Deluca of Cohoes, N.Y. will end up spending 90 days in a Rhode Island jail after pleading no contest to one count of grand larceny over $1,500, ValleyBreeze.com said. The 25-year-old authorities called the "Bordeaux Bandit" swiped a Wii video game system, Wii games and jewelry from a Cumberland, R.I. apartment in 2011, authorities there said.
He also faces charges in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
Deluca took two bottles of high-end wine worth $1,858 from a Bernardsville liquor store on Sept. 9, borough police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office allege. In late October, he was charged by Bernardsville police with third-degree shoplifting.
One bottle he allegedly took from a Connecticut restaurant is worth $4,800, authorities said.
Deluca was arrested Jan. 8 in Rhode Island and has been locked up since Jan. 11. He will also serve six years probation and have to pay $6,188 in restitution, the report said.
