RARITAN -- An overturned tractor-trailer carrying liquefied gaswill keep the Somerville Circle closed for much of Tuesday, according to the borough fire department.

Route 202, which traverses a bridge over the circle, is open at the moment, but might be shut down while the accident is cleared, police report. Delays of at least 30 minutes are expected well into the Tuesday evening rush hour, fire officials said.

"The Raritan Borough police, the Raritan Borough fire department and the Somerset County Hazardous material team are on the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer carrying a combustible material on the traffic circle," according to a news release issued by the fire department. "Traffic is being detoured around the area and the operation is expected to last until approximately 6 p.m."
