Seven people were displaced by a fire at a two-family home in North Plainfield on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
NORTH PLAINFIELD -- Seven people were displaced following an early-morning fire Tuesday in a multi-family house, Chief Willaim F. Eaton announced in a news release.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., the North Plainfield Fire Department responded to a fire on Grove Street in a two-and-a-half story, two-family property.
Firefighters reported seeing flames coming from at least three of the second floor windows, according to the news release.

No one was injured in the fire, but seven residents were displaced as a result of fire, smoke and water damage. The Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the families, it was stated in the release.
Mutual aid was requested from multiple towns, including an Engine and Truck Company from the Plainfield Fire Division, an Engine and Truck from Bound Brook Fire Department, the Quint and air truck from Green Brook Fire and mutual aid coordinators from Somerset County, according to the news release.
