Matt Farrell is having an excellent junior season for Notre Dame. But the Bridgewater native's best moment this year had nothing to do with basketball.
Farrell was surprised at the end of Monday's game against Colgate by the return of his brother, Bo, who is serving with the Army in Afghanistan.
Bo delivered a video message to Matt and the team after the game, which ended with "I look forward to being home with you soon. Really, really soon." Bo then proceeded to stun his brother by walking onto the court and embracing him. Video of the moment is featured above.

Farrell is averaging 13.8 points, 5.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game for the Irish. After playing just 4.1 minutes game as a freshman and averaging only 2.6 points per game as a sophomore, he's beginning to thrive for the Irish. He was strong in a homecoming at Prudential Center on Dec. 10 when he had 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting with six assists to help the Irish hang with No. 1 Villanova before falling short, 74-66.
A star at Point Pleasant Beach High School, Farrell was a First Team All-State selection as a senior when he helped lead the Garnett Gulls to the Group 1 title before battling Group 4 power Atlantic City in a Tournament of Champions semifinals double-overtime thriller before losing.
