Edward A. Rowe, Jr., 19, of the Somerset section of Franklin Township, was found hiding under a residential deck after a brief foot chase on Jan. 4, 2017. He has been charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief, a disorderly persons offense.
FRANKLIN - A township man was arrested for attempted burglary Wednesday night following a brief foot chase, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a news release Thursday.
Edward A. Rowe, Jr., 19, of the Somerset section of the township has been charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief, a disorderly persons offense.
At approximately 10:54 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call reporting that someone was attempting to break into a Cheshire Court residence. The caller provided a detailed description of the suspect to dispatchers, it was stated.
Law enforcement officers responded to the area and began a search. Rowe was spotted nearby and a short foot pursuit ensued, the release said. He was taken into custody by officers on Jordon's Circle as he was attempting to hide under a residential deck.
After being processed at police headquarters, Rowe was released on his own recognizance.
