Protesters call for impartial probe into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidentia election.
BEDMINSTER -- About 200 protesters gathered Saturday at a rally against President Trump before some activists formed a motorcade that passed his private golf club in Bedminster.
The event was part of a wider effort, dubbed the #MarchForTruth on social media, that spanned cities in the United States and in Europe, and called for an impartial investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to organizers.
During the gathering at Bedminster's River Road Park, protesters held signs that read "Putin's Puppet" and called for Trump to be impeached.
Trump was not at his Somerset County club Saturday, but is expected to return next week. An advisory issued by the Federal Aviation Administration calls for possible "VIP movement" between June 9 to 11.
The visit would be Trump's second stay at his 535-acre New Jersey club since he took office in January.
The Trump Administration has been embroiled in controversy over allegations members of the president's campaign coordinated with Russia to meddle in the 2016 race against Hillary Clinton. Trump has denied those claims, which are being probed by a special counsel and congressional committees.
