FRANKLIN -- Authorities are investigating a double shooting in the township Tuesday night.
Two men were shot sometime around 6:45 p.m. on Eugene Avenue, a small side street a few blocks from Route 27, in Franklin Township, according to Captain Jack Bennett, a spokesman for the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
After a preliminary investigation, police believe the shooting was not random and the two were targeted, Bennet said.
Police have no suspects at this time, Bennet said.
The two men were transported to an area hospital trauma center. Police have not released the names or the condition of those shot.
Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes and CSI are investigating the incident.
