Harding signed the resolution, then returned to the golf course to finish his round.
RARITAN -- President Warren G. Harding is shown at the home of U.S. Sen. Joseph Frelinghuysen in Raritan in this photo taken on July 2, 1921.
Harding, an avid golfer, was the senator's guest at Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater when a courier arrived with the Knox-Porter Resolution, a joint resolution of the United States Congress officially ending United States involvement in World War I.
The document required Harding's signature to be official; according to information from the Somerville Public Library, he went to Frelinghuysen's home to sign the resolution, then returned to the course to finish his round.
